Fish NY Acuari Sculpture
Client: Wildlife Conservation Society
Design: Cloud9 – WRT
Location: New York (USA)
Technical development: 2006 – 2008

Sculpture concept: Cloud 9
Sculpture design: Pere Gifre
Sculpture project manager: Daniel Molina

For the NY Aquarium Project we used as a basis ideas and concepts from Cloud9-WRT and by means of visual effects made some sculptures that imitate fish scales, which will be placed in a mesh that will cover the entire aquarium in a “second skin” effect. These sculptures will project leaf-like shadows onto the floor in marine forms, enriching the architecture.

The design is based on underwater forms, eg; seaweed, jellyfish and fish scales. Once selected, the design is reproduced in 2D in order to be able to make the entirely computer-generated 3D model.

Using this technology our ability to rebuild from pictures, drawings or technical plans enables us to develop designs of any kind.
